Which One You Should Buy, Instax Camera or Printer?

As a millennial, who doesn't like to capture some pictures? Or being captured? I think this is the need of many people in this kind of era. Some people are very competitive to share their extraordinary lives through photos or other types of content on their social media. Oh sure, I'm not saying it's wrong, this motivates us more to make a number of things or achievements. Then, the camera is one of the main needs for most people today. DSLR Cameras, Mirrorless Cameras, Telephone Cameras, whatever that is. So, what about Instax Cameras?

Btw, I am one of those who admire Instax! Not a big fan, but I like the photos. I think Instax is not some kind of primary need, but you can do more with this camera. Plus, Instax has innovated their things like making innovative cameras and even printers to make photos like Instax Camera. Sometimes it makes some people confused about whether to buy an Instax camera or printer. Some people asked me which one is better.

So, I did a little research on my Instagram about how my friend's preferences are about buying an Instax Camera or Printer. Here is the result. 

Even though the percentage of people who want to buy a Printer is bigger, but actually the percentage of both, buying a Camera or Printer, is actually almost the same.

People who choose the Printer over the Camera will consider some points such as:

1. Safer in Producing Photos

Shoot on the camera of your cellphone, and print it on the Instax Printer as you like. So, you don't need to worry if your photos are not good at all, because you can choose what photos you want to print and you will get rid of so much photo paper if you use the Camera.

2. More efficient for Any Occasions

It would be far more efficient because you don't need to carry multiple cameras in any occasions like if you want to do light travel. So, you can only bring your own phone or camera without a mirror, and print it when you are at home.

3. Could be a business

Then, if we talk about the business side, there are so many people who make this a business in the market. They opened Instax printing services. So, you can make your own money by printing photos of your customers.

Then, people who choose the Camera over the Printer will consider some points such as:

1. Prioritize Moment

People who choose Cameras over People are those who value and prioritize moments over the photos themselves. They will bring cameras in special occasions, and take pictures at special moments. They will use photo paper efficiently and not finish it immediately, so the photos will feel more special than printing their own photos using the Printer as they wish.

2. Special Effects on Photos

The photos produced by the camera are also special. They have their own special effects such as bright colors or vintage ones. If you want to produce photos with this effect by your own camera and print them using Instax Printer, you must edit the photo first. But, I think the results will be more natural from the Camera than printing photos that you have edited using the Printer.

3. Different Sensation

Nowadays, film cameras are starting to become popular again. This makes some pros and cons. Some people think why we have to make photos with film, and develop and scan photos from film. Likewise with Instax, why do we have to use the Camera if we can print and take photos with our own camera? The key is sensation. If you use Instax or a film camera, you can do some experiments with the results (even though you don't know exactly how the photo is), and for some people this creative process is fun.

4. Could be a business

If we talked about the business side of Instax in the previous paragraph in the Printing section, you can also create a business from Cameras. Although (I Guess) using a Printer will be more efficient to make money, but you can also make photo services using the Camera and make money in some special events such as Creative Bazaars, School Competitions, etc. Fyi, when I was in middle school, my friends made their own money by taking photos of their customers for charity.
